Shore power

If your campsite has shore power, plug in. It lets you run the inverter all day and night without using the battery.

What you need

To connect

  1. Turn off the breaker on the power pedestal.
  2. Plug the Power Watchdog into the pedestal by itself, with nothing plugged into it yet.
  3. Turn the breaker on.
  4. Check the Watchdog. A white light means the power is good. A red light with an error code means there is a problem.
  5. Once you get the white light, turn the breaker off again.
  6. Plug the SmartPlug cord into the Watchdog and into the van's power port.
  7. Turn the breaker back on.

The Watchdog will light up, and you'll see a blue light on the SmartPlug at the van port. You're on shore power.
